The word "blame" isn't just a word, it's an answer to questions that no one wants to
take the responsibility
for.
It's an answer that can be manipulated to cast a spotlight on things totally unrelated to a problem.
Blame is society's quick-fix explanation for embarrassment, misjudgments, mistakes, and blunders.
Scientists are blaming global warming for the ice shelf collapse in Antarctica and they're blaming the Hollywood studios for heightening the fears
about global
warming.
Some people blame Society for all their misfortune, while others blame the police, alcohol, and their parents.
Governments have been known to blame the United Nations, which is a collection of governments working together, and some governments just blame those who are opposed to a government in power.
Mothers blame their prescription medicines, the school system, and
the local grocer for
their struggles.
Alcohol and non-alcohol beverage companies blame television, video games, and computers for obesity.
Churches blame the media, the devil, and even Pokemon for the world's problems.
Teachers blame the principals, the book publishers, and the students for poor education.
Poor people blame the government and the rich people for their woes. Some people blame

governments, and their greedy peers.
Soldiers blame their superiors, upbringing, and circumstances.
Fat people blame fast-food restaurants, their slow metabolism, and even their parents for their condition.
Stupid people blame everything around them for their problems.
Sick people blame the doctors, the diseases, and the medications for their aches and pains.
Nuclear accidents are blamed on the materials used in their construction.
Jobs are blamed for weight gain and
foreign countries
are blamed for taking jobs.
Divorced couples blame their broken marriages on their former mate and his or her mother.
Sex or even a lack of sex is blamed for problems, just like debt is blamed for a myriad of troubles.
The salesman gets blamed for everything imaginable.
There are people on any given day, looking for someone or something to blame, finding someone or something to blame, or wondering who or what to blame for anything that has gone not according to plan or lack of a plan.
What's your stand on blame?
Do you dish it out, look for it, encourage it, or
find yourself on the receiving end

of it?
There once was a story about a man who blamed a woman and the woman blamed a snake... never any word about who the snake blamed, but I'm sure there was a list.
As the planet evolved, so did blame and it has become a part of our daily lives.
Take note when something goes wrong in the life of the people around you.
The drycleaner, spouse, child, car, grocer, or policeman was to blame for a person being late for work. Why is it that people blame traffic?
The last time I checked, there's traffic on the road everyday.
Like a coin, blame has another side. It's a side that
some would even call
an evil twin. The evil twin that I speak of is responsibility.
It's so easy to put it on the other guy, inanimate object, or municipality.
Blame has been a chosen son of the people of Planet Earth and has mutated itself into Planet Blame.
Blame is easy, because over the years it has been allowed to flourish.
How many times as a child did you hear the phrase, "Don't worry honey, it's not your fault?"
Of course, it was you that left the garden hose stretched out on the lawn that grandma tripped over and broke her hip. It was that hose, it shouldn't have been so easy to stumble on.
Your father is on the phone right now with his attorney asking about the possibility of suing the manufacturer of the garden hose.
Growing up in a factory town, it wasn't unusual to hear a story about a man who went to work drunk, proceeded to operate machinery while intoxicated and chopped off his arm during his shift, only to find out later that the worker sued the manufacturer of the machinery and got a settlement.
This story is fabricated, but not
that much off
the mark. The blame had to be placed on someone or something.
Despite incompetence, stupidity, or neglect, the machinery manufacturer always seems to get sued.
Perhaps, taking responsibility for consuming alcohol and operating machinery while under the influence wouldn't have yielded any money.
Do you take responsibility for a parking ticket, or is it, "I was just there a minute, I had to just drop off my dry-cleaning. If that counter person would have just been faster, I wouldn't have gotten the ticket."
Global warming is taking a lot of blame and it's a perfect example to unveil the real problem on Planet Blame.
Why would a scientist point the finger at global warming as the reason for some event?
It's easy to blame on Planet Blame and it is
totally acceptable
and has been for quite some time.
I've given you enough examples that you can conjure up others and flashback to your own "blame game" experiences.
There are a couple of cures for blame.
The most obvious cure is by taking responsibility and yes that could lead to embarrassment, a loss of wages, an expense that you can not afford, or the termination of a relationship.
Blame is right up there with lying. When you shift the blame to something or
someone else,
you are lying to yourself.
If you fall down, it's not the sidewalk's fault, it probably happened because you were in a hurry, weren't watching where you were stepping, or you're a klutz.
You didn't gain those extra pounds because of TV, video games, or a computer. You put those extra pounds on because you don't get enough exercise and you put too many fattening substances into that hole in the lower portion of your face.
"Oh, you shouldn't say that." I just did.
Try taking the blame out of your life. Fess up, you are responsible for everything that happens to you and it's all the little things that are piled on top of each other that make for your life.
Buying a five-hundred dollar pair of shoes with a credit card may make you feel better and ease some anxiety, but eventually that bill will arrive in the mail.
And, bills usually have a habit of arriving when you are
in the position of having another
expense to cover. The thrill of the five-hundred dollar shoes is gone, but the obligation to pay for them lingers.
Well, you'll just make a partial payment this month, because after all, you have to have money to live on. Another shopping trip, another credit card purchase and the cycle picks up speed.
Fast-forward, two years, five years and you're swimming in debt with just barely enough income to cover the minimum payments and you're hoping for the new credit card that you applied for gets approved.
Now the poor judgment from the past few years of senseless purchases has you in a hostile mood most days.
Your job is no longer rewarding, because it doesn't
allow you to earn enough
to cover your expenses. Your job, which you once loved, now sucks.
For some reason your relationship isn't going as well as it once did.
Talk to a divorce attorney if you don't' believe me about money problems being a cause of marriage dissolutions.
You can blame the credit card company for their high interest rates. You can blame your employer for not paying high-enough wages. You can blame your friends for not understanding.
You might even blame the shoe salesman for "selling you those stupid shoes."
Are you able? Are you ready? Are you smart enough?
Are you going to wake up and admit that it was a poor judgment on your part to buy the shoes that you knew that you really couldn't afford?
There's no one to blame, there's just you to take responsibility for your actions.
Global warming didn't happen overnight, nor will its effects disappear in a week or two.
The real answers are a few questions deeper. It's easy to skim the surface and just say global warming, but tougher questions have to be asked and answered.
What are the causes of global warming?
How are you contributing to global warming?
And, there are hundreds and perhaps thousands of more questions that need to be asked before we as a planet play the blame card.
Is global warming really a problem or is it just a natural event in the life cycle of the planet? Not a popular question, but that doesn't disqualify it as a valid question.
This spinning rock that we call home and is hurling through space is not perfect, never has been, and never will be, but for now, it's what we have to work with, work on, and make work.
It's you and about six billion others who are responsible for what happens here on Planet Blame. You can keep blaming or deal with all of the other decisions that were made before you even got here.
Those before you can certainly be blamed, but are you going to take responsibility for what has to be done now, or are you just going to go on blaming
everything and everybody for everything
that doesn't go right in your life?
Your decisions, no matter how small, translate to your life and your position in life.
Spend, spend, spend and you'll probably be broke, broke, broke.
Be prudent with your time and money and life will probably be comfortable.
Make yourself better by learning new skills, practicing your talents, and absorbing the knowledge that's available to you and I'm sure there is no stopping your personal growth and prosperity.
If you just go on doing what you're doing and nothing seems to
change in your life,
don't blame me.
